Linen
The Cone Wall Lamp is also crafted from high-quality linen, a natural, breathable fabric known for its durability, elegance, and timeless appeal. The linen used in this pendant is carefully selected for its soft texture and ability to diffuse light beautifully, creating a warm and inviting ambiance in any space.
The color and trim details pay homage to Umbhaco, the traditional attire worn by the Xhosa people of South Africa. Umbhaco is a distinct, heavyweight cotton fabric, often adorned with bold black, navy, or red trims, and worn during significant cultural ceremonies such as weddings, coming-of-age rituals, and other rites of passage. The color combinations and trims of our Cone Pendant are a contemporary interpretation of this rich cultural heritage, celebrating the artistry and symbolism embedded in Xhosa tradition.

Our collection of wall lamps draws from the rich history of lighting fixtures that have evolved over centuries, blending function and beauty. The earliest wall lamps, simple sconces and torch holders, were used in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome to illuminate pathways, buildings, and public spaces. Roman wall lamps, often made from metal and designed to hold oil, provided steady illumination, while in Egypt, wall-mounted fixtures were used in temples and homes for ambient lighting.
Inspired by these ancient traditions, our handcrafted wall lamps celebrate African heritage and craftsmanship. Rooted in the legacy of skilled metalworking, these pieces bring a contemporary touch to your space while honoring centuries of cultural and design evolution. With a perfect balance of history and modernity, our lamps offer both functional lighting and aesthetic elegance for any interior.
